Information: Bilal Baloch serves as a Research Analyst, based in the Washington DC Cell. Bilal closely assesses political and policy development, vis-à-vis US policy towards Pakistan from the Management Cell in Washington DC. Before joining Crisis Project, Bilal conducted research into quantitative confirmation theory, pertaining to the application of Bayesian statistics and probability theory in the philosophy of science, with a particular focus on scientific realism during the 18th and 19th centuries. In addition to his experience in academic research, Bilal has worked extensively with UK charities, such as Operation Christmas Child, UK Cancer Research and Islamic Relief. Bilal was duly the recipient of a philanthropic award in 2004, and was interviewed by regional media for his fundraising strategy in charity work. Bilal graduated, as the prestigious Anthony Giddens’ Scholar, from the London School of Economics (LSE), reading Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method. In his efforts to gain a fuller understanding of international security concerns in South Asia, Bilal has undertaken independent field research throughout Pakistan, and speaks fluent Urdu, Sindhi and Siraiki.
